1. Define Your Goal & Audience
-
Goal: What should viewers do after watching? (Buy, subscribe, learn, share?)
-
Audience: Who are they? What do they care about? What language/style resonates?
-
Core Message: Summarize your key idea in 1 sentence.
2. Structure Your Story
Follow this proven narrative arc:
-
Hook (0–5 seconds): Grab attention instantly.
Examples: Provocative question, shocking stat, visual tease, relatable pain point.
→ “Did you know 90% of startups fail within the first year?” -
Problem (5–20 seconds): Amplify the audience’s pain.
*→ “You’re working 80-hour weeks, but growth is stalled…”* -
Solution (20–45 seconds): Introduce your product/idea as the answer.
→ “Our AI tool automates 50% of your operations, freeing you to scale.” -
Proof (45–60 seconds): Build trust with evidence.
→ “Clients like [Company] saved $200K in 3 months. Here’s how…” -
Call to Action (Final 5–10 seconds): Demand a specific, urgent next step.
→ “Start your free trial today at [link]!”
3. Write Visually & Concisely
-
Show, don’t tell: Pair dialogue with imagery.
Instead of: “Our app is fast.”
Use: [Visual: Timer drops from 10s → 2s] “Results in 2 seconds.” -
Kill jargon: Use simple, conversational language.
-
Pacing: Vary sentence lengths. Short sentences = impact.
-
Voiceover (VO) + On-Screen Text: Reinforce key points with text overlays.
4. Inject Emotion & Relatability
-
Emotional Drivers: Tap into desires (fear of missing out, hope, curiosity).
Example: “Stop losing sleep over payroll errors.” -
Storytelling: Use mini-stories/case studies.
→ “Meet Sarah. She was drowning in admin work… until she tried [Product].”
